Busy Signal Arrest Sparks Increase Album Sales
Busy Signal is currently enjoying a spike in sales for his latest album Reggae Music Again, as fans scramble to get a copy, fearing will be incarcerated for a while.
Busy Signal was extradited to the United States last week where he will stand trial for absconding bail a decade ago in Minnesota.
VP Records spokesperson, Michelle Williams, told the observer that the album is doing much better since his arrest after a couple weeks of slow sales.
“It’s not been dramatic but I think more people are tuning in to his music because they realise Busy is a good artiste,” Williams said.
Reggae Music Again was released on April 24th and features singles such as Reggae Music Again, Sweetest Life, Kingston Town, Jah Love and Wicked Man.
Busy Signal, whose real name is Glendale Gordon, pleaded not guilty when he appeared in a Minnesota court earlier this week.
Busy Signal is facing two charges related to a drug trafficking arrest in 2002. If he is convicted on the absconding bail charge, he could face up to five years behind bars.
