Embattled dancehall star Vybz Kartel is schedule to return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrates Court on April 13 to answer to ganja possession charge.

Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was arrested in late September of last year at a hotel in Kingston. The deejay, along with three other persons was charged with possession of the ban substances.

Just days after his arrest, the Portmore Empire head was charged with two counts of murder and illegal possession of firearm. He has been behind bars since.

The “Cake Soap” deejay secured bail last week on one of his murder charge but remains behind bars on the other murder charge. His bail was for the murder of St. Catherine businessman/promoter Barrington ‘Bossie’ Burton. According to police reports, Vybz Kartel and members of his alleged gang gunned down Burton last year summer while he was standing with friends in Gregory Park, St. Catherine.

Vybz Kartel is yet to secure bail on the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams. According to police report, Williams, who was an alleged gang member with the entertainer, was beaten to death at a house in Havendale. Police say they have video evidence linking Kartel to the murder.
