Beenie Man On Collaborating With Nicki Minaj: “This song can run the Caribbean and the world”

Dancehall heavy weight Beenie Man recently records a track with Nicki Minaj titled “Gun Shot,” which will be featured on her upcoming sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

Nicki Minaj first recorded her part of the track and Beenie Man recorded his part at the Gussie Clarke’s Anchor Recording studio in Jamaica.

Although she was not in Jamaica for the final recording, Beenie Man said Nicki Minaj was very much involved in the process.

“I was supposed to have gone to LA (Los Angeles) to record the track. She sent her vocals with two of her representatives from her record label and we went to Anchor and I did my verse,” Beenie Man said.

“She was on the phone basically telling us what she wanted,” Beenie added.

According to the dancehall veteran, the track will be a major his in the Caribbean and possibly worldwide

“This song can run the Caribbean and the world. It’s basically dancehall meets hip hop in 1980’s style,” he said.

Nicki Minaj release the official tracklisting for Roman Reloaded last weekend revealing collaborations with Beenie Man, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Drake, Rick Ross and more.

The album hit stores on April 3rd.
