Vybz Kartel Remanded, Gaza Slim Gets Bail

Embattled dancehall star Vybz Kartel was remanded in custody when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was denied bail by Senior Magistrate Pusey and was ordered to return to court on February 1.

Vybz Kartel protege Gaza Slim aka Vanessa Bling was offered bail when she appeared before the judge.

The two report to court on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

According to police reports, Slim, real name Vanessa Sadler, made a false report in October of last year claiming she was robbed by Clive “Lizard” Williams, the man Vybz Kartel allegedly murdered.

Police sources confirmed with Urban Islandz that they are in possession of the cellular phone used to send the text to Vanessa to make the report.

Vybz Kartel attorney, Christian Tavares-Finson, reportedly asked Senior Resident Magistrate Pusey to outline her reasons for denying his bail application in writing.

After that report is turned over to them, the lawyer said they will make their next move.
