Ethiopian Orthodox Church Is Distancing Itself From Jah Cure’s Wedding

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church is seeking to distance itself from the publicized wedding of reggae crooner Jah Cure and beauty queen/television personality Kamila McDonald.

The below public notice from the church’s hierarchy was emailed to Urban Islandz. Although it did not name Jah Cure, the reference made mention to a wedding at the Tryall clubs on August 7.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Jamaica uses this medium to inform the public at large that it had nothing do with a wedding that was performed at the Tryall Golf Club, Hanover, on August 7, 2011.

This event could not have been carried out under the name of the Church, as this would defy the Supreme Court’s decision on June 15, 2007, which indicates that the schism are no longer members or a part of the church and prevents their occupation of the church premises.

  1. This has nothing to do with you Rev Fr Wolde Dawit. A case of religious people doing what they do best…self serving.
