Buju Banton Kids Inks Letter To Judge, “Please spare our dad”

Buju Banton upcoming sentencing will no doubt put a void in the lives of his 15 kids.

Buju will face Federal Judge Jim Moody on June 23rd in the Sam M Gibbons Federal Court in Tampa Florida. With the help of several celebrities including Stephen Marley, Atlanta Hawks center Etan Thomas, vibe Magazine editor Rob Kenner and actor Danny Glover, Banton’s attorney file a document last week asking the judge to reduce the artist sentence.

Part of that document is a letter from Buju Banton kids, pleading with the judge for mercy on their father who faced 15 years in federal prison.

The kids said,

“My father is a great person. He always make us smile when he is around…,” said Jahazeil, 14. “I love my father so much. He always care about us and encourages us to do the best we can and I miss him because there is no father like him.”

Banton Eighteen-year-old daughter Shadai described her father as the backbone of her family.

“Without him many things would not be possible. He is there for myself, my sisters and brothers, both financially and emotionally. He motivates each of us when we feel like the weight of the world is on our shoulders. How then could we picture a comfortable life without our main source of comfort?”

Buju Banton, who was convicted on three of four charges in February 2011, is facing a minimum 15 years behind bars.
