Hip Hop mogul Jay-Z’s unauthorized visit to the locker room of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team following a tournament victory last month has cost his NBA New Jersey Nets a hefty fine of $50,000.

According to reports by ESPN, Jay’s presence cost the New Jersey Nets, whom he co-owns, a $50,000 fine.

Word circulated around the league Friday that an unnamed team — which sources confirmed to ESPN.com is the Nets — was fined for violating league rules that prohibit contact with players who still have collegiate basketball eligibility remaining.

Last week, an NBA investigation was confirmed by a league spokesperson.
