Jamaica tourist capital Montego Bay is proving itself to be not just a place for tourist but also a grand party destination. Hot on the heals of one of the biggest grandest Reggae Sumfest came a three day event in Rose Hall dubbed “The Weekend.”

Although “The Weekend” Maybe seen by most of us an a party for the upscale and elite, it was still a grand affair if you can afford to be there. Still several parties and events like these decorate the city of Montego Bay this summer.

Night one of the event was a hot and steamy beach party at the Iberostar Grand on Friday night, where the duo of Dwayne Smalling and Gary Codner rocks the party hungry patrons and again on Sunday for the final day at The Palmyra all white affair.

But the grand night was on Saturday at the haunted Rose Hall great house, where the vibe was grand enough to make the ghost lime. Rapper DMC from the group Run-DMC put up a strong performance and was well received by the crowd. But it was British reggae singer Maxi Priest whose entrance had the over 200 strong crowd going wild. Priest hit the right notes from his catalogue of hits such as Just a Little Bit Longer had the patrons yearning for more. It was his rendition of the late prince of reggae Dennis Brown mega hit Should I Have Faith in You that had everyone scampering for their spot at the front of the stage.

We certainly love the vibe at “The Weekend” and we hope that it will come back bigger and better next year.
