Mavado Def Jam Deal Close To Signing

Rumors have been mounting that Jamaican dancehall deejay Mavado is in negotiations with one of the biggest music production and distribution companies Def Jam.

Mavado management team is said to be tight lip on the allegations and dismissed it as just “mere rumor.”

But Urban Islandz got a tip from a reliable source close to Mavado that the negotiations are advanced and a deal maybe signed soon.

The source told us that Mavado is upbeat about the prospects of working with Def Jam and also said the deal is very lucrative, but declined to give us a figure.

Mavado is one of dancehall biggest stars on the scene right now, with countless of hits under his belt. The “So Special” deejay is formerly of vprecords, where most Reggae and dancehall artists are signed to. Def Jam might be looking to tap into the growing dancehall market.
